Chic Spring Wedding at American Swedish Historical Museum

Carolyn and Josh had the perfect spring Philadelphia wedding at the American Swedish Historical Museum. After getting ready at the Courtyard Marriott at the Navy Yard, the two headed to the museum for their first look along with their bridal party of their closest friends. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony on the lawn of the museum and then celebrated in an outdoor tented space dancing the evening away to the best tunes on a playlist Josh had put together. The American Swedish Museum was the perfect setting for their wedding, giving a vintage element to Carolyn's chic and modern ones to allow for a romantic and classic day.

Jen + Zach's Philly Engagement Session

Jen and Zach had such the perfect summer engagement session. They're having a winter wedding in January, so having their engagement photos be warm and sunny will be such a wonderful juxtaposition to their chilly celebration! These two are super active and love running, so the Schuylkill River trail was the perfect place to capture their love since they frequently run their together!

Congrats on your engagement you two- I can't wait for your wedding at the Crystal Tea room this winter! Engagement Ring by LPriori Jewelry

Lacey and Peter's Intimate Camp Innabah Wedding in the Woods

Before Lacey and Peter celebrated their marriage with all their friends and family, they wanted to have a small and intimate ceremony at Camp Innabah, where the two first met. They both were campers here and then continued on to work as staff at the camp, so the camp is so meaningful to their characters and their relationship. They were surrounded by only their immediate family and closest friends as they shared their vows and promises to one another. These two are so loving and patient and it was such a joy to capture such a memorable day in their lives.

Carly & Themis' Timeless New York City Brooklyn Heights Engagement Session

I'm a huge fan of color. Color changes the mood of a session, tells the story of the season, the time of day. But there's something so timeless about a black and white image in New York City. Carly and Themis has such a classic look to them, I thought that sharing some of my favorite black and white images from their session mixed with a couple color images to really allow Carly's bright pink dress to pop would be a fun way to showcase their engagement shoot!

We had such a wonderful time walking around one of their favorite neighborhoods, Brooklyn Heights, on a beautiful spring afternoon. We walked and laughed through old cobblestone street and captured views of Manhattan's skylines and the Brooklyn Bridge! I can't wait to capture their wedding day at the Liberty House in Jersey City this October!

Carolyn and Josh's Ocean City, New Jersey Spring Engagement Session

Carolyn and Josh wanted to capture some memories at one of their favorite places, Ocean City, NJ. We hung out along the boardwalk and on the beach on an windy early spring evening! I always love being at the beach during the off-season- everything is quiet and surreal, so it's always a pleasure to capture it during this time!

I can't wait to capture Carolyn and Josh's wedding next week at the American Swedish Historical Museum in South Philadelphia!

Kim + David's Wedding at Pomme in Radnor, PA

Kim and David’s wedding was simple and elegant on an early and cold spring day in March at Pomme in Radnor, PA- just in the Western suburbs of Philadelphia. There was still snow on the ground from a few days before but they were kept warm by their children and closest friends and family on a day filled with so much love and joy. Kim decided to wear a bold purple floor length gown from Van Cleve on her wedding day! After a short and sweet ceremony (and a recessional to It Takes Two by Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock!) their guests enjoyed a candlelit dinner with the most delicious food from Peachtree and Ward. Kim’s son surprised his mama with a song wrote and played on his keyboard- which had everyone in tears (from crying and laughing!) For dessert, Li Halpern, surprised the two with a donut tower from their favorite donut joint in their hometown of Haddon Township, McMillans Bakery. Guests were also surprised with the Undergrnd donut truck for dessert! Kim and David- thank you so much for having me capture your beautiful wedding day at Pomme!

Jennie & Mario's Engagement Session at Ott's Exotic Plants in Schwenksville, PA

Jennie and Mario welcomed spring at Ott's Exotic Plants for their engagement session! These two were so happy and giggled the entire way through their session- which always makes my job super easy! These two had such a beautiful and genuine connection and were in love with exploring the rows of plants and succulents at Ott's. We can't wait to capture their wedding at Normandy Farms this June!

Why do I shoot film?

Below are images from a recent visit to Longwood Gardens- it was such a joy to escape the cold grey winter and get some greenery!  All these photographs were taken with my Mamiya 645 on medium format film. Although I don't regularly shoot film for weddings or portrait work, I do shoot it for my own personal work. I do this because my digital edits are inspired by the way film handles color, texture, and depth of field. Everything on that camera is manual which makes me slow down to make sure every shot is exposed and comprised correctly. It's a good practice for me to get better at what I love and I always love to try to improve and grow!
